Low Cost Health Care
Are you in need of low cost health care? It seems that many of the rates for health insurance plans are rising each year and finding cost-effect health plans seems to be hard to come by. Some policies that are usually low include the following.
HMOs, or Health Maintenance Organizations, are known for having affordable premium rates that remain low throughout the duration of the policy. You are able to choose a Primary Care Provider within their network, but you can only see them and other specialists they refer you to. The PCP will also refer you to treatments – referrals are made within your coverage. You are not supposed to use physicians outside of the network, unless for emergency reasons. If you do, you will be responsible for the expenses of the care.
If you are looking for something equally cost-effective, but a bit more flexible, you can go with a PPO, or Preferred Provider Organization. This offers a flat monthly premium rate and a network of physicians for your choosing, but you aren’t required to choose a PCP. If you want, you can go with a doctor that is outside of the network, but you won’t receive high reimbursement for the expenses you pay for.
To get the best of both worlds, you can apply for a POS, or Point-of-Service. This allows you to choose which of the two you would like to have benefits similar to when getting health care. You will receive no or low-deductibles, but it may be hard to get referrals for specialized care.
Check with your local health insurance companies to see what their plans have to offer you.
